Delightful colorful wildlife and aquatic art
Her art is deeply Influenced by her Mediterranean origins and the beautiful coastal nature of the Florida Keys and Maine, and the mountains and lakes in Vermont and the Eastern Townships in Quebec where she is fortunate to share her time.
Alicia Zemanek art is a feast for the eye; where color arouse deep and suggestive emotions. Her artistic signature lies in the use of classical old venetian techniques to create remarkable hues and jewel-like effects in a contemporary artwork.
« I cannot refrain from a totally abstract art that clings to nothing, yet pure realism bores me. My quest is to create an emotion of awe and wonder by incorporating whimsical or surreal elements, such as fantastical backgrounds or unexpected juxtapositions of color."

Eastern and Western inspirations
My art is deeply influenced by my multiple origins. I was born in 1963 in the UK, after my parents left Egypt during the Suez crisis. I am a Czech, Venetian, French and Ottoman mestizo. I spent 40 years in Montreal and 18 years in Luxembourg. In 2011, I bought a house in the Florida Keys, which I call my "Happy Place. In 2023, I returned to Canada and share my time between the Florida Keys and the mountains of the Eastern Townships in Quebec, bordering Vermont.
